When RHEINTACHO decided to enter the ATEX product market 3 years ago, with its mechanical hand-tachometer htm, no one then anticipated winning an award for technical innovation of the year only 3 years later.

The global market lacked a stroboscope which was ATEX certified and the only one previously available was discontinued in 2016. RHEINTACHO then decided to act and did two things. First of all, we created a task force based in Leeds to analyze the market for ATEX strobes taking potential applications and volumes into consideration. We then decided to modify some existing stroboscopes to enable them to get ATEX certification. One of them, our RT STROBE pocket LED, is now in the process of being certified. We are also examining further strobes and some sensors and digital hand-tachometers for ATEX certification as well.

However, there being a void in ATEX strobes throughout the world, we looked for a quick solution to this problem. Together with a partner for enclosures, Extronics, we enclosed a RHEINTACHO LED stationary stroboscope. This ATEX system is now available in 2 sizes using the 3000 and 5000 versions of the LED stroboscope.

This innovative technical innovation provides the market with an immediate and very robust solution for Zone 2 applications. The award as runner-up in this category was presented to Paul Hargraves, Managing Director and William Buhler, Sales, Marketing and Business Development Manager of RHEINTACHO UK, which is the ATEX competence center of the RHEINTACHO Group.
